The Teacher

Barry began playing drums and piano at the age of twelve. After leaving school he played in various rock bands, some with recording deals and singles in the charts. After a couple of years of this, he decided it was time to earn a living, so with the help of a new teacher (Bobby Armstrong) he decided to move into session work.

To date he has worked on numerous West End musicals, TV shows, corporate events, sessions and broadcasts. Touring has taken him to Europe, Canada, America, Australia, New Zealand and the Far East.

In 2000 he joined the Abba tribute band Bjorn Again. 2000-01 tours with them include Canada, America, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the UK including Wembley Arena and the NEC Birmingham and also playing to a crowd of 100,000 at Belfast’s Millennium celebrations. He has also played a season at the Monte Carlo Sporting Club, working alongside names such as Earth Wind and Fire, Liza Minnelli, Rod Stewart, Elton John and Barry White

He has also toured with The Supremes, Petula Clark, Five Star, Ben E King, Joe Longthorne ( DVD), Gloria Gaynor, Lorna Luft, Wayne Sleep, Joe Pasquale, Bradley Walsh (DVD) Lilly Savage, Harold Melvin, Martha Reeves, Billy Paul, Cilla Black, Barbara Dickson, Paul Daniels, Marti Webb and The Drifters.
